I began to use this setup with Malakai on the Groove Armada Tour when we had a DJ in the band – it seems like the perfect setup more or less, give or take a few tweaks

NEW MALAKAI SET UP
This is the set that I took out touring with Doves – A simpler, more compact kit, more jazz influenced. No second snare, no double pedal – straight down the middle, basic kit – LOVE IT!!

GUNSLINGER BLACK SETUP
This is heavier and more involved music so this is the most complex set up I currently use. I use triggers on the kick and two snares so I can put FX on the sounds without having horrendous feedback issues + a few pads to add extra samples and sounds as and when needed -

Roland TD8 – Runs 2 snare and bass drum trigger, 2 Mesh pads and a standard pad – then through various pedals and FX including Pods, Envelopes and distortions.
